Health Promotion Workshops

Each Wellness Weekend trip features two Health Promotion Workshops with different focuses during your stay. These sessions provide valuable insights and practical strategies to help students maintain their physical, mental, and emotional well-being amidst the demands of academic life. Topics covered include stress management techniques, healthy eating habits on a budget, incorporating physical activity into a busy schedule, fostering positive relationships, and developing coping skills for dealing with academic pressure. Led by experienced facilitators, these interactive workshops offer a supportive environment where students can learn, share experiences, and acquire practical tools to support their success throughout their college years and beyond.

Emotional Awareness Reflection

Come spend some time in reflection and participate in an activity that encourages participants to identify and recognize the different emotions they feel, and thoughts and behaviors associated with those emotions. Brought to you by Justin Stoekle, from the Health and Counseling Center.

The Mask You Live In

From a young age, boys and men are socialized to suppress their emotions and place value on things such as stoicism, self-sufficiency, and toughness. This socialization leads to boys and men acting in a way that is in accordance with what society deems to be the right way to be masculine, instead of what is authentic to them. In this workshop, we will begin to identify how men mask up and how we can begin to take off the mask in the process of becoming our most authentic selves. Brought to you by Justin Stoekle, from the Health and Counseling Center.
