The chancellor's staff supports the strategic direction of the chancellor and university through project and event management, communication support and the strengthening of relationships with trustees, students, faculty and staff, as well as other important duties as needed.
Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff
Nancy Nicely works in partnership with numerous faculty, students and staff across campus to help meet the strategic goals of the chancellor on behalf of the University. As secretary to the Board of Trustees, Nicely works closely with the board and members of the senior administration. Additionally, she leads the implementation and communication of major campus and institutional initiatives on behalf of the chancellor. Nicely helps coordinate and strengthen the University's relationships and outreach with the broader public and community in the areas of marketing and communications, government and community relations, and conferences and special events. Previously, Nicely served as secretary of the college and vice president for communications at Swarthmore College.
Jean provides support for the staff of the Office of the Chancellor, helping with daily administrative tasks as well as projects and events.

Barbara is providing writing and research support for the Office of the Chancellor, while Rebecca Parker is out on leave.
Director of University Protocol
Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees
Claire (MA, ’01) provides administrative support to the chancellor and manages special projects, initiatives and events, including the University’s commencement ceremonies. She also provides administrative and logistical support to the Board of Trustees. Claire earned her BA in art history from the University of Vermont and her MA in higher education from DU. She has worked in the Chancellor’s Office since 2003.
Bonnie supports the operation of the Office of the Chancellor by providing administrative support to the staff.
Cheryl provides administrative support to the senior vice chancellor and chief of staff, including in her work with the Chancellor's cabinet and other senior leaders across the University, the Board of Trustees and externally facing audiences. Cheryl brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to the role, having served from 2011-2017 as Business Officer for DU’s Office of Teaching and Learning and 2009-2011 as Office Manager and Grant Administrator for DU’s Marsico Institute.
Senior Project Manager
Chase McNamee serves as a Senior Project Manager in the Office of the Chancellor. In his work, he supports DU IMPACT 2025, the University's strategic plan, by working directly with University leadership and others involved in implementation. Additionally, Chase manages the Community + Values initiative, an initiative aimed at increasing the sense of belonging and community at the university. Before coming to DU, Chase worked for five years in institutional advancement in higher education. Chase is currently a doctoral candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Higher & Postsecondary Education EdD program. He earned his BA in History and his Master’s in Counseling at the University of Wyoming.
Haley (BA, ’18) oversees and manages the implementation of the Chancellor’s 4-Dimensional Student initiative and the University’s Action Plan to Address Gender-Based Violence.
Rebecca "Parker" Parker
Parker provides writing and research support for the Office of the Chancellor, contributing to reports and other collateral and working closely with the Division of Marketing and Communications.
Director of Chancellor Engagement
Allison (BA, '10 and MLS, ‘18) is responsible for planning and implementing the Chancellor’s engagement with various stakeholders, working cross-functionally with offices and constituents both across campus and in the community. She has worked at the University of Denver since 2004, and in the Chancellor’s office since 2015.
