The chancellor's staff supports the strategic direction of the chancellor and university through project and event management, communication support and the strengthening of relationships with trustees, students, faculty and staff, as well as other important duties as needed.

As secretary to the Board of Trustees, Nicely works closely with the board and members of the senior administration. Additionally, she leads the implementation and communication of major campus and institutional initiatives on behalf of the chancellor. Nicely helps coordinate and strengthen the University's relationships and outreach with the broader public and community in the areas of marketing and communications, government and community relations, and conferences and special events. Previously, Nicely served as secretary of the college and vice president for communications at Swarthmore College.

She also provides administrative and logistical support to the Board of Trustees. Claire earned her BA in art history from the University of Vermont and her MA in higher education from DU. She has worked in the Chancellor’s Office since 2003.

Cheryl Jackson

Cheryl brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to the role, having served from 2011-2017 as Business Officer for DU’s Office of Teaching and Learning and 2009-2011 as Office Manager and Grant Administrator for DU’s Marsico Institute.
Chase McNamee

In his work, he supports DU IMPACT 2025, the University's strategic plan, by working directly with University leadership and others involved in implementation. Additionally, Chase manages the Community + Values initiative, an initiative aimed at increasing the sense of belonging and community at the university. Before coming to DU, Chase worked for five years in institutional advancement in higher education. Chase is currently a doctoral candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Higher & Postsecondary Education EdD program. He earned his BA in History and his Master’s in Counseling at the University of Wyoming.
