    Lili Cheng, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, leads the Emerging Technology Group in the Cloud and AI division for our business applications. She focuses on driving innovation and delivering AI-driven products in Conversational and Copilot Applied AI, and Industrial Metaverse / Frontline experiences and services. A member of the National Academy of Engineering / Computer Science, she has a rich history with Microsoft Research, founding the Social Computing Group and Futures Social Experiences (FUSE Labs). Lili has taught classes at Harvard Graduate School of Design, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and Cornell University School of Architecture Art and Planning, and was born in Tokyo, Japan.

Jeremy Haefner, Conversation Moderator

    Jeremy Haefner is the University of Denver’s 19th chancellor. He brings to DU over three decades of leadership experience in higher education at both public and private institutions.

    Chancellor Haefner strongly believes DU is an institution uniquely able to serve students as they prepare for successful careers and meaningful lives—today and into the future. And he is deeply committed to upholding the University’s long-held mission of serving the public good.

    As a mathematician, Chancellor Haefner studies integral representation and module theory. He has a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin. He was born and raised in Iowa with strong mid-Western values, is a triathlete, and a lifelong Star Trek fan—especially for its themes on equality and hope for the future.

Vivek Choudhury
Dean, Daniels College of Business

    Vivek Choudhury is Dean of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He came to Daniels from the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) in Washington, DC, where he had been serving most recently as Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Professor of Information Systems and Technology Management. At GWSB, he had previously also served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and as Interim Dean. Prior to GWSB, Vivek spent more than a decade at the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business in varying faculty and leadership roles. His earlier faculty positions were held at Florida State University and the University of Pittsburgh. Choudhury earned his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and his PhD in Management (Information Systems) from the University of California, Los Angeles.

    Mr. Kaurloto currently serves as the Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer for the University of Denver, an R1 research university with a direct focus on innovation, AI, analytics, cloud opportunities and advanced research. Prior to the University of Denver, Mr. Kaurloto has served in multiple C level roles as Vice President & CIO, Clemson University, CTO Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Assistant General Manager IT, City of Los Angeles, COO & Deputy CIO, University of Southern California and Executive Director & Chief of Communications for The Associated Press.
