Seniors direct a one-act play using the theatrical skills, techniques, perspectives and styles learned from our program.

This year’s titles and directors:

The Wasp by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, directed by Kanara Bramlett-Pittman
Heather and Carla haven’t seen each other since school. Their lives have taken very different paths – Carla lives a hand to mouth existence while Heather has a high-flying career, husband and a beautiful home. And yet, here they are in a café having tea and making awkward conversation. That is until Heather presents Carla with a bag containing a significant amount of cash and an unexpected proposition…

The Door
by Paul Elliott, directed by Jayce Rumsey
A grandmother sits in her darkened apartment and refuses to answer the insistent knocking at her front door. The one person still capable of reaching her, her teenage grandson, Justin sits with her in the darkness, trying every trick he knows to get her to respond, to turn on the lights, to answer the door and reclaim her life.

Paper Thin by Lindsay Price, directed by Ryan Thomas
Sweetie and Punkin play a nightly game – betting on who will come out victorious in their neighbor’s arguments. What begins as a jovial means of coping with paper thin walls, quickly crumbles into mayhem and reveals the dysfunction in Sweetie and Punkin’s own relationship.
