Basecamp Rentals
Basecamp, located on the University of Denver (Denver Campus), is the university’s centralized outdoor gear rental hub. As the launching point for the Kennedy Mountain Campus (KMC) experience, Basecamp supports students, faculty, staff, student groups, and DU Outdoors programming with high‑quality outdoor gear for backpacking, skiing, snow travel, mountain biking, and camping.

Be sure to check out the rental size guide. No one wants to see an epic adventure come to an end because things don't fit as they should. Please find that resource linked below and be sure to ask our team any quetions you might have. It is always best to receive instruction on proper use of any item rented to ensure smooth operation when at your destination!
Rental Rules and Guidelines:
Rental Duration
All rentals are priced on a nightly basis, making it easy to plan around your trip schedule.
Late Returns
Items must be returned before Basecamp’s posted closing time on the due date. Late returns will incur a fee of 1.5× the nightly rental rate for each additional night.
Cancellations
Plans change—we get it. Reservations can be canceled up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.
Waivers & Agreements
All renters are required to sign a waiver and rental agreement at the time of checkout.
Eligibility
Rentals are available to University of Denver students, faculty, staff, and approved student groups.
Pickup Location
All gear is stored and picked up at Basecamp, located on the Denver campus.

Mountain Bike Rental: $42/night
Frame Packs:
Apidura 2.5, 4, 4.5, & 5L Available
Filling the main triangle of the frame, the Expedition Full Frame Pack creates a large space for storing heavier gear on longer tours. The resulting low centre of gravity ensures bike handling remains natural whilst offering a high volume of storage space. An ideal addition to any long distance bikepacking set up.
Full Frame Rental: $12/night
Seat Packs:
Perfect for light, compressible gear, these mountain bike saddle bags provide a spacious compartment under the saddle. Attaching via a simple three-point system, they’re designed to be compatible with dropper posts.
Seat Pack Rental: $8/night
Handlebar Roll:
The pack’s capacity can be adjusted with its dual roll-down closures and air release valve. A reinforced attachment system provides security and stability, while abrasion-resistant paneling ensures durability to match the demands of mountain biking.
