The Office of the Vice Chancellor and CIO provides strategic direction for the use of information technology at the University and executive management of the unified IT organization. The Information Technology Division, which is comprised of Enterprise Application Services, Campus Partnerships, IT Infrastructure, operates under the leadership of Vice Chancellor and CIO Russ Kaurloto.

Enterprise Application Services maintains software systems supporting the University’s core business and develops custom applications for systems, desktops, web, and mobile in partnership with DU departments to enhance services to the DU community.

Campus Partnerships aligns and establishes collaborative, strategic partnerships with academic and administrative units, unifying IT staff through efficient and effective support structures. Campus Partnerships is supported by the Customer Services Department, and the Digital Media Services Department.

IT Infrastructure

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) provides leadership and coordination for the University’s Information Security Program and leads the Information Security Team.  This team is in charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive and holistic cybersecurity security program to protect the University’s information resources.

The IT Budget and Administrative Operations team consists of both the fiscal responsibilities specific to IT as well as the IT Project Management Office.

Network Operations offers a wide range of IT expertise to operate and support the university's wired, WiFi networks and voice infrastructure.

Director, IT Systems

IT Systems oversees the health and operation of the DU's computing infrastructure in support of the University's education, research and business objectives. IT Systems is comprised of three units: IT Systems Operations, IT Data Center Services, and Digital and Technology Solutions.
