Forgetting / Resetting a Network
Windows
- Click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (near the clock) > Network & Internet settings.
- Wi-Fi from the left menu > Manage known networks.
- eduroam — select it from the list and click Forget.
Mac
- System Settings > Wi-Fi — open it.
- eduroam — find it in the list and select Details...
- Forget This Network... — select it and click Remove to confirm.
- Reconnect to eduroam from the Wi-Fi menu.
Mobile Devices (iOS or Android)
- Settings > Wi-Fi — open it.
- eduroam — select it.
- Tap Forget or Forget This Network.
- Reconnect to eduroam and enter your credentials.
Advanced Mac Troubleshooting
Set Wi-Fi Service Order
It's important that eduroam is preferred over DU WiFi in your list of known networks.
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings > Network.
- Click the Action pop-up menu on the right and choose Set Service Order.
- Confirm Wi-Fi is first in the service order list.
Reset Network Preferences
Use this only if the steps above have not resolved the issue.
- Open Finder > Go > Go to Folder, and paste:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration - Delete the following files:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist,com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist,com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist,NetworkInterfaces.plist,preferences.plist - Restart your Mac and try reconnecting.
Manage Preferred Network Order
By default, macOS attempts to join the most recently used wireless network. To reorder your preferred networks:
- Apple menu > System Preferences > Network (or click the Wi-Fi icon > Open Network Preferences).
- Select Wi-Fi > Advanced.
- Drag your preferred networks into order, with eduroam above DU WiFi.
