A-Z Style Book

University Relations follows the Associated Press Stylebook for materials aimed at general audiences. Our editorial style guide offers practical references for common spellings, abbreviations, and punctuation, occasionally differing from AP to align with academic culture. For unlisted items, consult the AP Stylebook or Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary.

The University of Denver believes in using language that is inclusive of all our diverse populations. This Editorial Style Guide contains some inclusive language to be used here at DU. For all other language, please consult the AP Style Inclusive Language Guide.
