First-Year Students

As a new college student, selecting a major, planning your course of study, and registering for classes involves a lot of decision-making and can leave you with many questions. 

DU‘s First-Year Advising is ready to support you through in-person or virtual meetings, where you learn about our academic procedures, Common Curriculum, available majors and minors, program requirements, and how to select courses that advance your degree progress. Our advisors can also help you sort out your transfer credits, connect you with on-campus resources, and start planning your career path.

Transfer Students

At DU, we aim to simplify the transfer process and make your transition as easy as possible. Our academic advisors are eager to review your transfer credits, teach you how to register for classes, and set you up for academic success. 

Whether you know what major you want to pursue or are an undeclared student, DU offers advising sessions for various degree programs and schools, undeclared/exploratory majors, and our Honors Programs, along with one-on-one advising sessions.
