Faculty & Staff
Your Voice, Your Ideas, Your 4D
As faculty and staff at the University of Denver, you are critical to advancing and elevating the 4D model of holistic student learning and development through your teaching, advising, programming and service. The University of Denver invites you as a faculty and staff member to help shape the 4D Experience.
Faculty & 4D
Through transformative teaching and mentorship, professors at the University of Denver prepare students for successful careers and lives of purpose. You collaborate with colleagues, weaving together disciplines and approaches to discover new and better ways to teach and expand our knowledge of the world.
Staff & 4D
Our staff nurture students’ development by building and leading dynamic co-curricular and extracurricular learning opportunities. With your support, students deepen, complement, apply and reframe their academic learning. You foster community and support the whole person, giving students the tools and guidance to thrive.
An Integrated 4D Experience
Together, curricular and co-curricular learning comprise the holistic DU 4D Experience. Each supports the other’s potential for highest impact and gives students opportunities to learn more, do more. Through our integrated approach, students make connections between their experiences, the future they desire and their ability to change the world.
What's Happening in 4D?
On Friday, May 20, 2022, the recipients of our 4D Infusion Grants and members of the working groups and learning community will present at a 4D Symposium. This symposium will offer the opportunity for ongoing dialogue, as well as foster new ideas and partnerships.
Integrating Learning, Intentionally
The 4D Learning Community brings together faculty, staff and administrators to foster integration between the four dimensions. Facilitated by the 4D co-directors in sessions led by campus partners, the community is exploring educational design elements central to 4D. At completion, participants will revise a program or syllabus to further embed the 4D approach into the campus ecosystem.
Backing Big Ideas
4D Infusion Grants help faculty and staff implement projects that enhance 4D student learning. Projects are evaluated based on integrative or collaborative design, potential impact and scalability. So far, 10 grants have been awarded at $700 for individuals and $1,500 for teams. The next application period will open in June 2022.
Building What's Next
The 4D Innovations Working Group is an incubator for co-curricular partners to meet biweekly. They reimagine, design and integrate models and practices that further embed the 4D-Experience across the co-curriculum. The group will present its plans for new programmatic models or practices at the 4D Symposium in May in preparation for the implementation phase over the summer.
