About

The Division of Community Support & Engagement works for students, faculty, and staff. All of our numerous programs, events, and services follow our vision, mission, and values.

Vision

We envision a DU where every individual feels a deep sense of belonging, support, and connection. Through inclusive engagement, bridge-building, compassionate care, and intentional collaboration, we aim to transform campus culture and climate into one where inclusion, pluralism, and restorative practices work together toward community engagement. CSE aspires to be a catalyst for continuous improvement, ensuring that all are welcome in the pursuit of a thriving academic community.

Mission

The Division of Community Support and Engagement is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of the DU community. We foster meaningful community connections and empower individuals through collaborative engagement and holistic support. Guided by DU’s values of excellence, innovation, engagement, integrity, and inclusion we strive to build a campus culture where everyone feels valued and cared for.

Values

  • Connect - To connect is to build meaningful relationships across differences, linking people, ideas, and resources in ways that strengthen the DU community. Through connection, individuals feel supported, included, and positioned to grow.
  • Belong - To belong is to feel rooted in a community through relationships, shared experiences, and moments that affirm one’s value. Belonging emerges when programs, events, and conversations create space for people to be seen and to participate fully in campus life.
  • Thrive - To thrive is to live fully and with dignity in a community that recognizes and honors one’s whole self. Thriving reflects the culmination of connection and belonging, where individuals are empowered, supported, and able to contribute meaningfully to the university.
