This survey is a key early data gathering instrument for the Scenario Evolution Process (SEP). The goal is to gather broad, interdisciplinary feedback to determine the future direction of these scenarios.
The survey asks stakeholders :
- How they used the SSPs in the past.
- What limitations or "missing pieces" they identified (e.g., equity, nature, solution-orientation).
- What critical needs exist for the future of global scenario frameworks.
Your Input Matters: The results will directly inform a high-level workshop later in 2026 to discuss potential paths forward that may include the development of updated or entirely new scenarios.

How to Participate
To ensure your time is used efficiently, this survey utilizes a logic-branching design. You will be directed to one of three tracks based on your self-identified familiarity with the SSPs:
- Expert / Direct User Journey (~15-20 mins): For those who actively develop narratives or use SSP data in quantitative models.
- Consumer / Familiar Journey (~10-12 mins): For those who read SSP-based research but do not directly model or develop it.
- New / Unfamiliar Journey (~5-8 mins): For those new to the framework who wish to express needs regarding future global scenarios.
Most responses are optional, although your careful completion of the survey provides the data needed to build a robust, community-led framework.
