Rachel Balows

Assistant Director of Admission and Communication

Rachel Balows

I am a Colorado native who truly loves this state! I grew up in Boulder and completed my undergraduate work at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. I spent a year in Massachusetts upon graduation and quickly came back to my home state for graduate school at the University of Denver. The weather, the Rocky Mountains, family and friends and the DU program were just a few of the reasons for my return. Since then, I completed my MA in Counseling Psychology and spent four and a half years as the Director of the DU Hillel. Throughout this time I fell in love with the University of Denver. The people and the energy I've experienced on campus are rare finds. When the opportunity arose to work at this incredible institution as an admission counselor, I jumped at the chance. I currently serve as an Assistant Director of Admission and Communication and absolutely LOVE my job!

When I am not on campus, I spend time with my husband and our very active puppy dog. I also enjoy exploring local restaurants, perusing the summer farmer's markets and just hanging out in the year-round Colorado sunshine. My family is still in Boulder and I go up often to visit them. Whenever I get the chance, I practice the art of dog training and am always offering to help out with friends' and family's pets.
