Let's get started
College is a major undertaking and we're here to help you succeed. With a wealth of undergraduate programs designed to help you find a career after you graduate, DU is a great place to discover your interests, develop your skills and explore the world of possibilities available to you. While here, you'll be a part of a welcoming, inclusive community built on intellectual curiosity and exploration. You'll have the chance to work with your friends and professors while you pursue what inspires you, all from the beautiful setting of Denver.
You have the full support of our admission office. We'll help to ensure the process is smooth so you can focus on your future.
DU accepts the Common Application. The Common Application is a standardized application that's utilized by hundreds of institutions in the U.S. and abroad.
DU has two important application deadlines: November 1 for Early Decision I and Early Action; and January 15 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision.
- Early Action and Regular Decision are both non-binding applications; students who apply during Early Action or Regular Decision rounds of admission will have until May 1 to make their decision about attending DU.
- Early Decision I and Early Decision II are binding applications and have earlier deposit deadlines.
Students admitted during Early Decision rounds of admission receive an additional $5,000 merit scholarship and top academic performers will have their full demonstrated financial need met.
Athletes receiving athletic aid as well as music majors are welcome to apply Early Decision but are not eligible for the financial incentives. International students are eligible for the additional merit aid but not for need-based aid.
Early Decision applicants enjoy stronger consideration for admission, and benefit from earlier admission and financial aid notifications.
You can only apply Early Decision to one school. If you're accepted to DU via Early Decision, you must withdraw your applications from other institutions.
You should only apply Early Decision if you're sure you want to be a DU student.
Tuition & Aid
We know how complicated financial aid can be, so we have a single page that can help you locate the information you need.
You're automatically considered for merit scholarships once you complete your application for admission. These scholarships and grants are awarded based on your record of academic achievement and the strength of your application. We provide over $170 million in financial aid to undergraduates each year.
To be considered for need-based aid, submit your FAFSA and CSS Profile, check your application status, and apply for outside scholarships if you're interested.
Academics, Community & Experience
Our students finish a step ahead of the pack. 92 percent have secured their post-graduation plans within 6 months of graduation, and 85 percent participate in an internship or research experience during their time here. Add that to a vibrant campus community and support from top-tier faculty, and you can see why our students are proud to call DU home.
Choose from over 100 undergraduate areas of study or work with us to create a program tailored to your interests. From our nationally-ranked business school to an array of options in the arts, sciences, engineering, and humanities, you'll be able to forge a path to take you anywhere you want to go.

We're proud to offer one of the nation's best study abroad programs, with over 70 percent of DU students spending at least a quarter outside of the US during their undergraduate years. Choose from 100+ programs in 50+ countries and spend significant time immersing yourself in a truly global experience. Our study abroad program greatly simplifies the process, meaning students only have to pay their typical on-campus tuition for off-campus exposure. Through our Cherrington Global Scholars program, we'll even pay for your flight there and back!
