Shanna Pomager

Senior Associate Director of Admission and Campus Visit Coordinator

Shanna Pomager

I became an Admission Counselor at the University of Denver after graduating from DU in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in communication. Previously from a small town in Louisiana, I decided to go out of state for my college education and soon became a volunteer tour guide for the Office of Admission. I enjoyed my time in higher education so much that after graduation, I continued to work with college students at the Art Institute of Colorado, advising them on résumé building and interviewing skills. I decided to join the DU Office of Admission in 2001 and I am currently a Senior Associate Director, working with prospective DU students in the Denver metropolitan private schools, Kansas and Louisiana. I also oversee DU's prospective student visit programs, including Daily Visits, Friday@DU, Pioneer Days and Journey to DU. I completed my master's program in Higher Education with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Change. I continue to stay involved in access issues by volunteering my time in local, regional and national organizations such as Colorado Council on High School/College Relations, Rocky Mountain Association for College and Admission Counseling and the National Association for College and Admission Counseling. When not working at DU, I enjoy taking advantage of what the Colorado outdoors and Denver city life has to offer. In the summer I spend my weekends with my family fly-fishing in Deckers, CO, attending Movie on the Rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and going to the Keystone Bacon festival. This winter I plan on snowshoeing in Estes Park and testing my culinary skills by brewing my own beer.
