Associate Director of Admission & Communication

Stephanie Tengelsen

I am a Colorado transplant, and I truly love the Mile High City. After many wonderful years in both northern and southern California (where I earned my BA in English from UCLA), I was eager to join a community that closely mirrored the values and ideals I hold. After searching the country, I found Denver to be a perfect fit.  The pace of life, seasonal change and accessible downtown were all very attractive features for me, and continue to be the reasons I enjoy living here so much. In 2007 I earned my Master's in Counseling here in Colorado, and while I have worked in various educational venues, I knew I wanted to put my education to good use in a college setting. Like many others before me, I found myself drawn to the University of Denver, where I continue to share my enthusiasm for this incredible institution as an Associate Director of Admission and Communication.

When away from campus, you will find me spending time with my family and friends, traveling the world, running in Washington Park, and discovering all the fantastic places that Denver's burgeoning restaurant scene has to offer. I am a die-hard San Francisco Giants fan, but I must admit... the Colorado Rockies have stolen a piece of my heart. Coors Field makes it ridiculously fun to be a baseball fan in Denver.

As an Admission Counselor, I enjoy working with students from the Douglas County School District here in Colorado, as well as students from Ohio and southern California (all cities south of, and including, San Luis Obispo).
