Outstanding Service Award

Deana Ahmad

During her time at Korbel, Ahmad helped students in Korbel find their voice and navigate campus politics, often serving as a liaison between students and administrators. At GSSW, she represents the only graduate school to have integrated power, privilege and oppression into its curriculum.

The Outstanding Service Award is the highest award presented each year and recognizes a person who exemplifies the University of Denver’s mission.

Crimson & Gold Award

Brianna Johnson

Brianna Johnson is a DU graduate who has worked for the University for the last six years. Currently an executive assistant in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, she spent the previous five years serving as a program coordinator and manager with DU’s Living and Learning Communities (LLC).

The Crimson and Gold Award recognizes a DU employee who demonstrates outstanding commitment to and support of the University.

Staff Innovator Award

Shanna Pomager

Shanna Pomager is the senior associate director of admission and the campus visit manager. When the pandemic forced the University online last spring, Pomager led the effort to evolve the daily prospective student visit program and the admitted student yield program.

The Staff Innovator Award is given to a DU staff member who has demonstrated creativity and innovation in work that advances the University’s strategic plan.

Quality Department Award

Custodial Services

More than 120 staff comprise the Custodial Services department within Facilities Management and Planning. Some employees have been with the University for as little as a few months, others for more than 40 years. The department is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all interior spaces in academics and administrative buildings, as well as dining halls and common spaces in residential buildings.

The Quality Department Award honors the staff of a DU department for its outstanding service to the DU community.
