As an NWSS Center of Excellence, we support and work to expand the wastewater surveillance system throughout the Mountain and Pacific region of the United States. Our territory includes AL, AZ, CA, GU, HI, ID, IL, IA KS, MN, MO, MT, NB, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY. We provide education and training from leading industry experts and offer consulting services to local public health agencies, state public health agencies, wastewater utilities and state public health laboratories.
Established by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in August 2022, the Colorado National Wastewater Surveillance System Center of Excellence serves as one of two national centers of excellence dedicated specifically to communicable disease surveillance using wastewater. A collaboration between the University of Denver and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, we are dedicated to wastewater surveillance, innovation and disease prevention.
