Research Policies

Welcome to the University of Denver’s Research Policies page. The University of Denver’s policy environment is designed to enhance the University’s mission, promote operational efficiency and effectiveness, and reduce institutional risk.

Given the unique work of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), specific policies have been adopted that align University practice with local, state, and federal regulations as well as proving a unified approach to research. ORSP policies are designed to be one of many structures in the division’s best-in-class support services, thereby advancing the University of Denver’s engagement in research, scholarship, and creative work, as well as the positive impact it has on the learning environment and the broader community. These policies support the University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by ensuring everyone is held to the same uniform standards, regardless of their background or classification. We strive to create a culture of transparency that ensures the highest standards of research and scholarship are protected.

The development and maintenance of robust, comprehensive policy is key to communicating the University’s research values and expectations. ORSP is proud to partner with the faculty and staff of the University to develop policies that meet the needs of the University’s research enterprise. Through ongoing engagement with key stakeholders, our policy is frequently updated and conforms to the evolving regulatory environment. The stakeholders review and approval of policies can be found on the header of each policy.

Note: Policies are being added to this website as they are reviewed and approved.

You can find university-wide policies in the University Policy Library.
