Participants will learn about Colorado’s child welfare judicial system and the realities and challenges of multi-disciplinary, cross-jurisdictional work with children and families. The judicial system includes multiple roles including county attorneys, respondent counsel, guardian ad litem, counsel for youth, CASA volunteers, and department of human service staff. Modules will explore their responsibilities, goals, and approaches through interactive activities and a case scenario. All content is explored through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion and the use of a trauma-informed approach. Partnership and collaboration provide the foundation for working together on behalf of children, youth, and families.
