Our 20-week online course provides you with all the knowledge you need to sit for the American Academy of Professional Coders' (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) Exam. Medical coding is the foundation for the operation of medical practices, and the CPC credential is the gold standard for professional coding.

Students who have completed this course and taken the CPC exam have shown a 100% pass rate. Our course is taught by local industry experts with real-life experience, and features insights from practicing physicians in the Denver metro area. Complete at your own pace, with access to live, hands-on support throughout the course, and receive career mentoring as you approach completion and prepare for your exam. You will have access to all course materials for up to a year after completion, to ensure you have everything needed to study for and pass the CPC Exam, and move into a role as a professional coder.

Instructor:
Marcia L. Brauchler
, MPH, FACMPE, CPC-P, COC, CPC-I, CPHQ is the Founder and President of Physicians' Ally, Inc. She advises physicians and practice administrators on managed care contracts, reimbursement, coding, and compliance. She earned her B.S. in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of California at Los Angeles and in 2014, she received her Fellowship (FACMPE) in the American College of Medical Practice Executives from the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). She is a licensed instructor with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), a member of the National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), and has been a governor appointee to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Strategic Task Force for statewide health reform and the Board of the State’s Uninsurable Health Insurance Plan.

Instructor:
Melissa McHugh
earned her B.S. in Consumer Science from the Colorado State University and her CPC in 2019. Since 2015, she has been assisting with the CPC Exam Prep Course. She is currently and account executive at Physicians’ Ally, assisting practices with defining and improving their reimbursement and coding research.

Online Course Format:
Access to course content will begin on October 7, 2024. The enrollment window for this course will close on April 14, 2025, to ensure all students have adequate time to complete the course. Students can expect to have access to course content in Canvas, University of Denver’s online learning platform, on the aforementioned course start date, or within one week of enrollment, whichever is later. Information about accessing Canvas will be sent to students after enrollment. Enrolled students will have access to complete the course for one year.
