This course supports professionals working in a helping field to understand secondary traumatic stress (STS) and related risk factors while strengthening their own resilience. The first section outlines core concepts such as self-awareness, empathy, mindfulness, and STS. Participants will learn about brain-based factors influencing stress and resilience. The second section covers the role of relationships in promoting resilience, and the third section emphasizes organizational factors. Learners will have the opportunity to deepen awareness as it relates to stress and resilience, while practicing skills that will enhance coping strategies and connect participants to their primary passion and motivations for their work.
