Wireless and Wired Internet Access

Wireless

We provide wireless coverage in all buildings, including all classrooms as well as many common places on campus for convenience. However, you may want to plug into a network jack whenever possible for the best performance.

REMEMBER: A wired connection is nearly always faster than a wireless connection.

Wired Network

For optimum performance, IT recommends using our wired network for both PCs, Macs, gaming devices and Laptops.   DU buildings have these connections running at 1 Gigabit, however when compared to wireless it is still a faster method for transmitting data, especially video.

In order to connect to the DU network while on campus, you will need an Ethernet connection on your computer and a CAT5e or CAT6 network cable. These can be purchased at any local computer store or the DU Book Store.
