About the Software Adoption Team

The goal of the Software Adoption team is to assist and encourage the DU community to fully utilize all technologies offered and supported by Information Technology. By being involved in institutional roll out of new features and systems, organizing and creating application support resources, coordinating vendor presentations, and compiling and creating training materials, the Software Adoption team is here to help faculty, staff and students make the most of the technology available on campus.

You can find us:

  • Consulting on best practices and relevant use cases for technologies currently available through Information Technology
  • Curating the Software Catalog to make the community aware of what software is available
  • Hosting regular training opportunities, bringing in vendors and units across campus who are utilizing technology in interesting ways
  • Facilitating monthly IT Orientation sessions for new employees

Technology Training Roadshow

In partnership with subject matter experts across campus, IT is visiting units to showcase the latest technology resources and offer customized training opportunities as needed.

Technology Resources Overview: Learn about how to find and access all the technology resources available to you. This 1-hour virtual session will get your team acquainted with the overall landscape of technology at DU and the new Technology Solution Center established to help you find existing solutions or request new tech. Then, schedule future training as needed. Some ideas: 1. Communication and Collaboration: Use enterprise communication tools to create stronger relationships, improve internal decision-making, and get your message across to the rest of the community. Microsoft Teams, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Express, Zoom. 2. Business and Operations: Accomplish tasks more efficiently by adopting products that focus on streamlining and automating processes. Office 365 Basics, Banner Basics, Data Insights Basics, Adobe Basics, DocuSign, MediaSpace, MyDU, Qualtrics. Faculty Focus: Learn about tools available for research and supporting students in the classroom. Activity Insight, Course Evaluations, RedCap. Build Your Own Training: Create a schedule of training sessions customized to the needs of your team. Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office 365, DegreeWorks (Degree Audit), Digital & Web Accessibility,Reporting Tools, Digication, Banner, Wrike.

  • Software Catalog: Our most up-to-date list of IT-approved technology. Each available software links to a page with details, instructions for getting started, and training resources.
  • Technology Training Channel: Video recordings of past trainings and webinars stored in DU’s MediaSpace.
  • Technology Solution Center: The Technology Solution Center (TSC) is a technology inquiry routing and review process that lives within IT. When a department, employee or student has a business or academic need that can be solved by technology, they should contact the TSC.
