COVID-19: Message to University Council - Impacts to Our Community
Planning for Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear Colleagues,
We write to you today with some updated guidance for you and your teams as it relates to the rapidly escalating and changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and its impact on our community and country.
Since Friday, several changes, including the state of national emergency declared on Saturday, yesterday’s advisory from the CDPHE urging visitors and residents of Eagle, Summit, Pitkin, and Gunnison counties to minimize social contact, and an update from the CDC though not specifically for universities to limit gatherings to no more than 50 people over the next 8 weeks, have led to the allowance for a great deal of latitude during these unprecedented times.
The message from the Chancellor outlines these steps along with changes in building access (ID’s will be required beginning tomorrow) and the University’s commitment to ensure that between now and the end of the next pay period, no employee will go without their regular paycheck.
We wanted to share these changes in advance and are so grateful for your leadership and flexibility as you support your departments in the midst of so much fluidity.
Sincerely,
Corinne Lengsfeld Laura Maresca
Interim Provost Vice Chancellor
and Executive Vice Chancellor Human Resources & Inclusive Community
