Degree Requirements
The master of music in performance has emphases available in classical and jazz performance areas. Students take weekly one-hour lessons with their applied faculty, participate in ensembles, and take area-specific classes. They complete coursework in music theory and musicology and also must satisfy these non-coursework requirements:
- One full-length performance recital
- Final written project
- Final oral comprehensive exam
- Demonstration of graduate-level proficiency in the musicology and music theory proficiency exams
- Convocation attendance
