Webinar

The SEP survey is currently underway and will remain open until the end of 2026. We will take stock of the data collected until June 24. At that point, we will synthesize the preliminary feedback to present at a community webinar scheduled for June 30. To accommodate our international research community, the webinar will be held at 7:00 AM MDT | 9:00 AM EDT | 3:00 PM CEST | 9:00 PM Beijing Standard Time

This webinar has concluded; recording above.

This initial stocktake of the survey will provide early insights and an overview of geographical and sectoral contributions to identify any biases and gaps. We strongly encourage everyone to share the survey with their community. Below, we provide a short pitch on why people should contribute, as well as slide decks ready for circulation. If you would like additional recruitment materials, please contact sep@du.edu

Here is example language to share to help encourage participants to take the survey:

Are you interested in shaping the next generation of socioeconomic scenarios used in climate change research, and beyond? The Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP) framework has become foundational for climate and sustainability research, but many emerging challenges now extend its original design, and it is time to start a collective process on how to evolve it. We want to hear your perspectives in a survey that will help us gather diverse views on current limitations of the SSPs, unmet needs, and missing sectoral and regional perspectives, as well as your ideas for improving future scenario frameworks. Please visit https://www.du.edu/scenario-evolution-process/survey
