Cate Nichols

Originally from San Diego, I became a military wife in 1990, and the Coast Guard stationed our family in Boston MA, Honolulu HI (where our first daughter was born), Seattle WA (where our second daughter was born), Yorktown VA, and Long Beach CA. When my Denver-born and -raised husband retired from active duty in 2008, we decided to settle here, and fortunately, I found a job opening in DU’s Undergraduate Admission Enrollment Services team shortly after we moved into the area. Over a decade later, still on the same team but now overseeing operations, I still feel very lucky to be on such a beautiful campus surrounded by coworkers who are passionate about making sure each and every student and family has a positive application experience. Better yet, I am a recent DU alum! I was able to achieve my goal of finally completing my degree in 2022. When I am not working, I am reading, playing with my dog, and traveling with my husband and daughters as often as I can. One piece of advice I would give to someone applying to DU is to do as much research as you can about your future college prospects and contact those of us who are here to help you in every way we can.
