Professional Biography
Dr. Sean Connin is a Teaching Professor at DU, where he specializes in curricular innovation the strategic development of AI education to meet workforce demands. From 2022 to 2025, he served as Faculty Director for Data Science Graduate Programs, overseeing the creation of the Master of Science in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He now focuses full-time on instruction and the development of cutting-edge coursework in large language models. Dr. Connin’s commitment to inclusive excellence is reflected in his collaborative work on multi-institutional initiatives that support underrepresented post-doctoral scientists through instructional mentoring. He distinguishes himself by applying an intersectional pedagogy to technical fields, viewing the classroom as a shared space for knowledge construction. At the Center, he connects AI fluency and data science with learner-centered pedagogy, equipping adult learners to build foundational knowledge and apply emerging methods across diverse professional contexts.
