Professional Biography
I left Louisiana to “go away to college” and attend DU; faculty were the highlight of my experience as an undergraduate.I loved it so much I stayed, and after 19 years, an MA in Education, a family (husband, kids – 6, 4, and yes, 4 again) and a cat, I’m still here. The mountains have always been a draw to me, and we spend our off days playing in the dirt - either camping or in our garden. My advice is to give each other some grace. Parents, your student is nervous, and this can manifest itself in interesting ways. Students, be nice to your parents… remember, they can blackmail you later with embarrassing baby photos.
