The Search

The search committee will conduct a national and global search and will seek to create a deep and diverse pool of highly qualified candidates that can work with the Chancellor, faculty, students, staff, and leadership team at university of Denver to achieve the strategic imperatives of DU IMPACT 2025 and further DU’s identity as a private institution dedicated to the public good.

Update on 6/17:

As we announced earlier this month, the University of Denver has hired Elizabeth Loboa as our next provost and executive vice chancellor. The chancellor would like to thank the members of the search committee for their diligent work. Serving on a search committee—especially for such a critical role as provost—requires significant time and effort. Search committee members, thank you. You have made an indelible impact on the future of our institution.

And to everyone who submitted feedback, thank you as well for your insights and engagement.

Update on 6/9:

Chancellor Haefner made the exciting announcement that Elizabeth G. Loboa, PhD, will join the University of Denver as our next provost and executive vice chancellor.

Her background, passion for faculty development, commitment to communication and transparency, and most importantly, her clear vision for the future of higher education make Elizabeth an ideal individual for the role of DU’s chief academic officer. She will join the DU community on August 20, 2025.

You can read more about Elizabeth, her career path, and her accomplishments on the DU website.

Update on 5/21:

After a first round of zoom interviews with a diverse pool, three highly qualified candidates were invited to visit DU. They each met with the search committee, university leaders, and a variety of community members, including faculty, staff and students, to discuss their experience and their interest in the Provost position. Following the visits, feedback from DU participants was requested, compiled, and presented to the Chancellor for consideration, with the aim of announcing a successful candidate within the next month.

Update on 4/8:

We are pleased to share that the search for our next Provost is progressing well. After overwhelming interest, careful review and thoughtful deliberation, the search committee has identified a select group of candidates whom we look forward to engaging with during the next phase of the process. Over the coming weeks, we will be conducting confidential interviews to learn more about these individuals and how their experiences qualify them for the Provost role at DU.
