Nature:                              Theft of Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Parts (catalytic converters)

Date of Incident:             January 3 – 10, 2022

Location of Incidents:    Both on and off campus       

Synopsis: 

The Department of Campus Safety has received multiple reports of motor vehicle thefts and theft of motor vehicle parts and accessories (catalytic converters) and these are increasing in frequency. The thefts are random and there is no set vehicle type that is targeted. When committing these crimes, suspects typically have worn work clothes to include traffic vests and are in possession of battery-operated cutting tools. While this has occurred on our campus, it is also occurring more frequently within the Denver Metro area. If this type of crime is witnessed, do not intervene and call 911 and Campus Safety at 303-871-3000.
