Enrollment Into Insured Benefit Plans

Eligible Employees may enroll in the University’s Insured Benefits programs immediately upon appointment but must do so within the first 30 days of their employment. Insurance coverage will be effective the first day of the month following the date of application for the insurance.

Employees who do not to enroll during their first 30 days of employment may begin participation by signing up during an Open Enrollment Period, which occurs once a year, or if they experience a "qualifying life event" as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) (e.g., loss of existing health coverage, marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child). Plan details and enrollment forms are available through the Benefits Office.
