Dear DU community members,

Earth Day is just around the corner, and it is an opportunity for the DU community to enjoy nature—and to take action to protect natural and wild spaces and the diverse species that inhabit them.

We are pleased to announce that, this year, Earth Week of DUing (an expansion of our traditional Earth Day of DUing) will take place Monday, April 17 through Saturday, April 22.

The keynote event of the week is a Q&A with Academy Award-winning screenwriter David Sirota, following a screening of his satirical film "Don’t Look Up" on Wednesday, April 19 at 5 p.m.

Join your peers and colleagues during our Earth Week of DUing to prepare campus garden beds for planting, volunteer for clean-ups of local natural spaces, learn skills needed to repair and creatively reuse household items, confront eco-distress in service of your own well-being, and so much more.

Earth Week of DUing is just one way DU serves the public good and fulfills its promise of a 4D Experience that prepares our students for their purpose-driven futures. Together, the DU community will work toward a “regenerative future” that fosters the development of resilient social and ecological communities that allow for all species and the natural world to flourish.

I hope you can join us.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Haefner
