While the eyes of more than 75,000 fans are on the field during a Denver Broncos home game, their ears are paying attention to the man behind the curtain. University of Denver alumnus and Colorado native Conor McGahey (BA ’07) just completed his first season as the Broncos public-address announcer.

“It’s an honor to announce for the Broncos because of what the team means to this town and always has since 1960,” McGahey says.

McGahey’s path to becoming the voice of an NFL franchise started early. His family had season tickets to the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, and he also regularly attended DU hockey games. He became mesmerized by the voice of longtime Denver sports announcer Alan Roach.

Read more about how McGahey got his first job as an announcer in the winter 2017 edition of the University of Denver Magazine.
