Discipline. Drive. Determination. These are just three qualities that students develop while participating in athletic programs that can impact their lives well beyond their time on the playing field. The connection that occurs on the sidelines can foster common bonds and lifelong commitments, not only between fellow students but also with their college. And that camaraderie has long term implications for the University when alumni engage with their alma mater. MarComm is focused on supporting athletics and advancement with a goal of building tradition and culture among the DU community while elevating the identity of the University.

According the Carri Wilbanks, MarComm’s video producer and lead for athletics and advancement, “As marketing experts we are positioned to make stronger connections between the DU community and the mission of advancement and athletics through impactful storytelling, strategic content creation, and multiyear campaigns that raise our awareness.”

She is looking forward to collaborating to create stories that resonate by showcasing the University through editorial, imagery, video, and design to elevate the mission and brand of the University as well as attract new students. By focusing on these areas, we aim to:

  • Build bridges while expanding and diversifying the base of support along the athletics and advancement continuum
  • Create a more vibrant and connected global network of alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and students
  • Promote major sporting events and club sports as well as the students and supporters who power them
  • Increase philanthropic support by strategically maximizing connection to the University of Denver
