Hospital Havoc

Hospital Havoc is a game which was created under the goal of meaningful play. Our team worked to develop a way to start discussions about the experiences of hospital workers throughout the pandemic. This game is a one-player game featuring a frontline hospital worker during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The player must decide whether to accept or reject visitors to the hospital-based on information about visitors that are presented on a card. The goal of the game is to successfully manage the reception desk of a hospital while balancing out your own sanity, professionalism, the hospital emergency level, and the hospital’s capacity. This game was later submitted to the International Conference of Meaningful Play 2022 in East Lansing Michigan by Akio Correll and accepted for presentation at the conference. Jennifer Armstrong attended the conference to present the game during the conference reception and game exhibition the opening night.
