About the Certificate

Audition Requirements

Applicants will need to receive acceptance for teaching training through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. A video of your performance must be sent into the Suzuki Association.

Applicants will also need to provide a completed high school diploma, transcript(s), personal statement, and résumé. Applicants must complete an interview and audition with the applied music faculty. Please see the studio page for your instrument for the audition pieces.

Degree Requirements

The certificate in Suzuki Pedagogy consists of 18 total credit hours taken over the course of two years. The first 8 credits fulfill the requirements for Level 1, while the remaining coursework will satisfy Level 2 of the pedagogy program.
