On August 12, DU hosted a town hall for students and families. Here are the highlights about housing, student life, Covid precautions and more.

Housing

All students in DU housing have been assigned a date, time and location for move-in. First-year students are Monday–Wednesday, September 7–9; all others begin on September 10. Pack light! Items stored with Squirrel Box will be there for you on your appointed day. Continue to check your email for updates. Write to housing@du.edu if you have questions. There is still some availability with DU housing!

Activities

Download/check https://crimsonconnect.du.edu/home_login for the latest on all of DU’s in-person and hybrid events, including all programming for Discoveries Week orientation. We’re excited to reopen our Coors Fitness Center (with reduced capacity and modified layout), and there will be virtual fitness and wellness programs at https://ritchiecenter.du.edu/

Academics and Libraries

Schedules are still in flux as students drop and add classes. We want students to be successful in their classes, so as always, contact your faculty members if you have questions or concerns. All face-to-face classes and the in-person portions of hybrid classes will be recorded for anyone who has to be absent. The libraries will offer all consultation services online and/or by appointment (writing center, tutoring, digital media center, etc.), as well as curbside service and access to our vast digital collections at https://library.du.edu

Health and safety

DU is taking a multi-tiered approach to safety, with heavy emphasis on education. Every community member—whether returning to campus or studying entirely online—is required to take a Covid-19 course on Canvas to be fully informed of all the measures DU is taking. Those who are returning to campus have four other steps: the arrival portal questionnaire, the molecular test, the quarantine, and symptom monitoring. Education will be ongoing and students who don’t respect their health and the health of others will be held accountable through the student conduct process.

We can’t wait to see you in person!!
