The University of Denver is proud to be ranked among the top five Best Employers in Colorado by Forbes magazine. The rankings were compiled after an independent survey of approximately 80,000 employees across the country, through direct feedback from DU employees, as well as indirect feedback from peers across the region within the education industry.

“I’m so excited about this designation for DU,” said Laura Maresca, vice chancellor for human resources and inclusive community. “I think it reflects the incredible work faculty and staff have put in making this a really great working and learning environment for our community. As we embark on the work surrounding our Community & Values initiative, I am eager to explore more ways to make everyone feel engaged.”

Maresca added that she looks forward to continuing the momentum to ensure DU continues to be a great place to work for all, but recognizes that this is a work in progress and soliciting feedback and listening to the community members is vital.

DU went through its own Employee Engagement Survey last year and nearly 90 percent of respondents ranked the university positively when asked how their work contributes to the university’s mission. Approximately 75 percent of respondents said they were proud to be a part of the institution overall.

The University regularly assesses and updates its employee benefits. Just this month a variety of new benefits were added including a new parent experience program for working parents and referrals to child care and elder care through the employee assistance program.
