CARILLON SUMMER CONCERT SERIES: LEE COBB – JULY 28, 7 P.M.

Serving as director of music and carillonneur of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater, Fla., Lee Cobb will perform the third concert of this free outdoor series. His program includes "Sakura Fantasy" (Cherry Blossom) by Kozaburo Hirai, "The Flower Song" from the opera Carmen by George Bizet, and Jerome Kern's "All the Things You Are."

Patrons attending the carillon summer concert series are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner. The best listening area for the carillon is the lawn on the south end of the Ritchie Center. Limited complimentary parking is available on Buchtel Blvd. in the metered lot in front of the Ritchie Center.

HARPERS HUMANITIES GARDEN TOUR – JULY 26, 1-2 P.M.

arboretumEnjoy a guided tour with DU arborist Marc Hathaway through the most diverse garden in the Chester M Alter Arboretum. You'll learn about the stunning tree collections and ornamental garden plantings. Please RSVP to Francesca Aguirre-Wong by July 25. Meet at the information kiosk located on the southwest corner of the Mary Reed building.

The CELL (Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab), The Denver Post and the University of Denver present a forum with leading national security experts Matthew G. Olsen, director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center; James Jay Carafano, PhD, The Heritage Foundation's vice president of foreign and defense policy; and Ambassador Christopher Hill, dean of DU's Josef Korbel School of International Studies.

Carol will perform "Preludium and Fugue" by B.J. Franssen, Dimitri Shostakovich's "The Second Waltz," and "Carillon Preludes on Appalachian White Spirituals" by Ronald Barnes.
