Date change for START OFF RIGHT: FIRST DAY AND BEYOND FOR STUDENT EMPLOYEES – JUNE 19, 11:30 A.M., UNIVERSITY HALL 306
(June 18, 2013) First impressions are everything! Preparing for the first day, week, etc., is important in retaining and engaging student employees. By providing a great start, students are more likely to understand their role and be more engaged.
Session Overview:
- Pre-first day communication
- First day (required new hire paperwork, tour and introductions, project, check-in, setting expectations)
- Setting expectations (scheduling, timesheets, unit policies, role responsibilities, etc.)
- Value in meaningful work
- Recognizing achievements
- Job training

Performance management: setting expectations – June 25, 9 a.m., Sturm 353
(June 11, 2013) Whether you are a new employee and this is your first year completing the performance management process or you are an employee who just needs a refresher, it is not too late to register for the last "Performance Management: Setting Expectations" session. This session will provide an overview of DU's performance management process and how to complete "setting expectations" in the online form. In addition, this session will provide an overview of the new functionality for the 2012-2013 performance management cycle.
