THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER BIKE TO WORK CHALLENGE

Join the challenge, bike to work, log your miles, win prizes.

(Updated July 2, 2013) Get a great form of exercise, lower your driving costs, reduce your carbon footprint and get free gear while helping move DU up the Colorado leaderboard in the 2013 National Bike Challenge! The challenge runs from May 1 – September 30.

2013 Bike Challenge

It's simple: sign up online (make sure to select the University of Denver as your employer) and log your rides daily online or with the smartphone app.

Each day you ride your name will be added to a monthly raffle. The more you ride the better your chances of winning (and the higher you move on the leaderboard for bragging rights)! Prizes include bicycle racks, tools, tune ups, lights, T-shirts, poster art and bikes. Like the Center for Sustainability on Facebook for an extra entry in the raffle.

For the month of June, DU finished in 2nd place in Colorado workplaces. We offset over 7,750 pounds of CO2 and rode more than 11,000 miles!

The University of Denver challenge is open to all faculty, staff and students. All participants will receive a bike map and ankle strap (pant protector).

The DU Bike to Work Challenge is sponsored by well@du and the Center for Sustainability.

It's a drought. Use even less.

(June 18, 2013) Summer is upon us and this is the second year in a row of below average snowpack and drier than normal conditions in our watersheds. Denver Water has declared a Stage 2 drought. DU Facilities is partnering with Denver Water's "Use Even Less" campaign to reduce water usage on campus. Please help in these efforts by limiting your personal water usage and reporting any leaks you may see on campus.
