Volunteers needed! Move out donation drive – June 3-7

(May 21, 2013) Each year, students in the residence halls leave tons (literally tons) of items when they move out of the residence halls at the end of the year. We need your help to load those items onto trucks to donate to a variety of nonprofit organizations. Last year we worked with five nonprofit organizations and donated over 25,000 pounds of items.

One of the keys to our success is our volunteers; last year about 24 staff and faculty members from Student Life and other departments across the University volunteered to load up the donation trucks. Our volunteers unanimously agreed that it was a great experience. This year, we need your help to load those items onto the trucks during finals week, June 3-7.

As a token of our thanks, the Student Life Sustainability Action Team and Housing and Residential Education staff will provide lunch for all of the volunteers on Friday, June 7 after everything is loaded up.

Sign up to volunteer here. Please contact Christy Cerrone (303-871-4518) if you have any questions.
