How to Replace an ID Card

Deactivate Lost or Stolen Pioneer ID Cards Immediately online.

Replacing Cards for Employees & Students:

Lost or Damaged Cards:

If lost: 

  • Deactivate your card online through the eAccounts portal. (eAccounts) 
  • Attempt to locate your card.
  • If unfound, contact our office via phone, email, or visit to issue a replacement. 

If damaged: 

  • Please visit the ID Card Office upon your earliest convenience WITH the damaged card. 
  • If unable to visit our office, contact our office via phone or email to issue a replacement. Please provide photo of damaged card. 

Stolen Cards:

If stolen: 

  • Deactivate your card online through the eAccounts portal. (eAccounts) 
  • File a stolen property report with a police department. 
  • Provide the stolen property report to the ID Card Office. 
  • Request a replacement card to be issued via phone, email, or visit. 

- The Replacement Fee for cards claimed as stolen may only be waived when a police report has been presented.

  • Charges & Fees
    The very first ID Card you ever receive, is the only free ID Card. 

    Our office can only accept/process cash, Flex, or check payments. We can also place the fee onto a student bill. 

    Replacement Fee: $30.00
    • For lost cards, stolen cards without a police report, and damaged cards not returned to our office. 
    Damaged Fee: $15.00
    • For cards that are returned to our office and are damaged. (cracked, bent, hole-punched etc.) 

If you cannot access campus during our business hours, we can mail you a replacement card. If you would like us to do so, please email us at pcard@du.edu with your full name, mailing address, DU ID number, and date of birth. Mailings take 2-3 business days to process and up to two weeks for delivery.

Found a Card? 

If you happen to find a missing/lost Pioneer ID Card, please return the card directly to our office, the Service Desk on the First Floor of the Community Commons, or to a memeber of Campus Saftey. If you are unable to visit our office or the Community Commons, please contact our office via phone or email so that we can assist in getting the card back to where it belongs! 

If your card has been turned into our office, we will duly notify you that your card is here via email. 

Note:

- The very first ID Card you receive ever, is the only free ID Card. 

- You may remove the "Pioneer Card" label at any time upon request. 

- Your ID Card photo can be changed upon request. 

- A police report is needed in order to waive fee for stolen cards.
