Per Department of Education Regulations, The University of Denver must notify you that the University has chosen to partner with U.S. Bank to offer students, faculty and staff the option to add banking functionality to the Pioneer ID Card.
You can link your Pioneer ID Card to your U.S. Bank checking account, and you will be able to use it as an ATM and PIN-based debit card! Visit usbank.com/du for more information.
Your funds can be direct deposited into an account at any financial institution including a pre-existing account already belonging to you.
You are not required to open an account with U.S. Bank to receive or use the Pioneer ID Card for other campus services or to receive disbursement of financial aid.

The debit card number and functionality will NOT be active unless you choose to link your Pioneer ID Card to your U.S. Bank checking account.
Steps to link your Pioneer ID Card to your U.S. Banking account:
- Bring your Pioneer ID Card to the ID Office to be activated for use with U.S. Bank.
- Provide your debit card number to U.S. Bank. Your debit card number is the 16-digit number printed just below your ID number on the front of your card.
