Meet Janis Bonds, executive assistant to the vice chancellor
(Nov. 24, 2015) Janis Bonds joined the University in September. As executive assistant to the vice chancellor of Human Resources, Janis is the primary point of contact for the Office of Human Resources. Responsibilities include schedule management of appointments and meetings, processing expense reports and ensuring the vice chancellor is fully prepared and has all necessary materials for appointments and meetings. Janis takes a team approach in anticipating the varied needs of a busy and engaged Human Resources office and supports members of the senior management team in Human Resources.
Originally from the Western Slope, Janis moved to Denver in 1985. Janis was actively involved in her children’s schools, serving as a classroom volunteer and later as a substitute teacher. In 1998, Janis accepted a position as executive assistant for EKS&H, a large locally owned CPA firm. She was promoted to marketing manager and served in that role for over 10 years. In 2012, she left EKS&H to return to her passion for education and renewed her Colorado teaching license. During that time, Janis attended Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Siena, Italy to study Italian.
Outside of her role at University of Denver, Janis has a variety of interests and has been involved in several groups and initiatives. Most notably, she served as a founding member of the Colorado chapter of the Association for Accounting Marketing and was on the committee for the Association for Corporate Growth Awards. Janis enjoys cycling, tennis, culinary arts, music and spending time with her family.
Janis is a Colorado State University alumna (BS ’80).
