Creating a Job Requisition for Non-Benefited Staff

Use this guide to help you submit a non-benefited staff posting request.

Job Requisition Overview

Getting started

1. Login to Jobs@DU.

2. From the Dashboard click New job.

3. Enter the position number 800860 in the space provided, then click the search button (binoculars icon).

You must click the search button (binoculars icon) after entering in the position number. Then click Next.

Requisition information section

  1.  In the Position Number field, confirm the position number carried over from the screen above, if it did not come over go back and search the position number.
  2. In the Posting Title field, adjust the position title as needed. This title will be displayed to applicants on the actual job posting.  
  3. In the Positions section, select the type of position either Vacancy or New Position. To fill multiple vacancies using the same requisition, enter in the number of vacancies then click Add More.
  4. Complete all required fields marked by an asterisk.

Since non-benefited position numbers are not pulled from Banner, you must enter this information manually.

Organization Details section

 

1. Complete each field as required:

Posting Details section

  1. In the Application Form drop-down, select "Staff"
  2. Select a Posting Type.
  3. Select from the list of commonly used third-party advertisers to post to their sites. In the field below, list any other sources.
  4. The Job Location field defaults to Denver, CO.
  5. Complete all other required fields indicated by an asterisk *.
  6. If an external advertising agency was selected, enter the budget number in the Budget number if advertising externally field.

Posting Details - Advertising Display section

  1. In the Advertisement Summary field, include 1-2 sentences that provide a summary of the position (typically comes from the position summary on the job description). The summary will be visible to applicants on the Jobs@DU site. Use the Non-Benefited Staff Job Posting Language Template to create and structure the formal job posting. 

  1. Copy and paste the job description into the Advertisement Text field.  

  1. Delete the text that populates in the HTML Code for Advertisement Text field. 

  1. In the Additional Support Documents field, select the check boxes for required and/or supporting documents.

  1. In the Additional Information for the Recruiter field, enter additional information as needed.  

  1. Complete the required fields indicated by an asterisk *. 

  1. Complete the option fields as necessary. 

 

Search Committee Details section 

  1. In the Search Committee Chair/Hiring Manager:* field, search for an employee by entering their name and then selecting the search icon.  

  1. When found, click their name and select Add New User.

This person will see the results of the search committee review if applicable, but cannot move applicants through stages. 

 

3. To add a Search Committee Members, click Add Search Committee Member. 

4. Search for the Search Committee Member by name, select their name from the list, then click Done.

Users and Approvals section 

  1. If you are not the hiring manager, please make sure to select the Hiring Manager's name in the Team field.

  1. Select an option from the Recruitment Process drop-down, DU Non-Benefited Staff Recruiting 

  1. Administrative Support will have similar access as the Hiring Manager.

  1. If you are not the hiring manager, search and add the Hiring Manager in the Hiring Manager/Originator field.  

  1. Select an option from the Approval Process drop-down, DU Non-Benefited Staff Approvals. 

  1. Click Save and Submit. You are done!
