Registration Guide

At the University of Denver, registration for Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters begins with Priority Registration for continuing students on week six of the quarter and runs for two weeks. Students are assigned a registration time approximately three weeks before registration begins for a subsequent quarter. Visit our main Registration page for more information.

  • Academic Advising

Faculty, advisors and other student services staff maintain online advising notes for students.

    • The purpose of this resource is to accurately and consistently document policy, procedures, practice and our interactions with students.
    • This is a valuable tool to review notes on previous interactions with students from all areas in the University community, ensure a shared understanding of the communication with the student and to support students through streamlined communication when working with a variety of constituents across campus
    • We encourage faculty to record notes after advising sessions with students.
    • The Student Comments screen has a space for internal comments as well as a longer “Narrative Comments” section which can be sent to the student as a confirmation. Simply indicate a subject and click “Submit and Email” if you wish to email the students.
    • To view the advisee list, log on to Pioneerweb. Go to Faculty tab, Under Advising Resources, select Student Profile and View My Advisee Listing.
  • Approvals

Registration Approvals provide information on alternate pin removal, course prerequisite/restrictions, credit and course load approval, transfer credit, concurrent enrollment and forms & special permissions. Visit our Registration Approvals page for more information.

  • Closed Courses & Waitlist

The Automatic Waitlist process allows for a more proactive approach in the communication and registration of classes. The waitlist feature offers students a fair and consistent way to enroll in a full class if openings occur. Students are automatically notified via email when a seat becomes available. The student has 24 hours to complete the registration transaction. If the student does nothing, the process drops the student and notifies the next student on the list.
